Almost IMMEDIATELY after I asked for others to help me with money to donate to my cousin in Vietnam for his brain surgery, my business just exploded. It could have just been a coincidence, but man... it was a huge leap from $7k/month to over $20k/month in a matter of weeks. So I tell ya, I'm going to be giving a lot more and a lot more often. I've always believed in doing it because it feels good, but this was just so much more. I hope you do find something you'll be passionate about and proceed with helping that cause.
