Your business ruined my appetite

It never ceases to amaze me how businesses impede their growth. I am not just talking about small businesses, big ones as well.

Most small businesses worry about looking big and big businesses worry about looking small. What about the consumer?

Who gives a shit if you seem big or small. Is GEICO losing out to the small insurance companies? Is Mcdonalds getting their ass kicked by ma and pa’s burger stand?

The key to a successful business, whether it is huge or micro is how consumers see themselves using your product/service. If I need a meal fast- Mcdonalds, if I want to sit down and have more of a "home cooked" meal- ma and pa.

Does ma and pa benefit by looking like a chain of 3000 for this consumer? No, small seems like the quality and service will be better (not always the case)

Take notice here, I want to focus on the term- consumer. They are people who consume what you are selling and hopefully keep consuming.

Your goal is to keep feeding them more to keep their appetite stimulated. Once you stop putting your menu in front of them, they go to another source.

I am not talking about your competitors. I am talking about a market filled with consumable products and services. Every one of them wanting your consumers money.

The more money they are spending somewhere else is less money they have for you.

Always keep feeding them. Look at your products or services and create more reasons to keep them spending more often. Develop new products or services, or joint venture with another product or service to cross-sell.

Whatever a new consumer buys from you now is only the appetizer.

Don’t you forget it

go get some

Paul
